Larry has been photographing for more than 50 years. He enjoys making photographs of many different types of subjects, from architecture to zoology. He is especially interested in environmental portraiture. His book "Portraits of China" is a compilation of portraits and observations of the Chinese culture and the many changes taking place in Chinese society (see web link below).

Larry organized and conducted the pre-Olympic photographic workshop at the School of Journalism of Renmin University in Beijing. The workshop documented the changes in the city in preparation for the 2008 Olympics. In 2010 he instructed the photo-essay class at Beijing Normal University.
Currently, Larry is working on several books. He is working on a book about heroes of World War II and a book about Calotype photography. He is, also, doing research on multi-point of view portrait photography.
Larry has initiated a program at California State University, Northridge to assist graduate students in gaining knowledge and skills for archival preservation of visual media.
Tourism World Magazine, a Chinese publication well known for highlighting photography, has appointed Larry to be the Magazine's Chief USA Correspondent and Photographer.
